Pudsey Report 2020 AGM D Goakes

This year has seen a good deal of progress on the Roller and I do hope you have been able to see the collage of photos showing the progress, which has not been as quick as I would have liked.

I was able to fit the new throat plate and back head, make and fit the new horn plate, and fit the new boiler barrel. and rivet into posItion. Thanks to my Brother, the Roller was transported down to GDSF and put on display outside the Association Marque. It generated a lot of interest but only 50p was put in the collection bucket, most disappointing.

The wrapper for the fire box has been made, and will be drilled next week ready for riveting. I can not do any more at present, until I receive the new fire hole door ring which is being supplied Foc along with the strengthening bolts for the back head, which along with the Manhole and mud hole doors had been lost at a previous location, as reported last year. The Association is fortunate that member Graham Atkinson has kindly lent us his off his Roller, and member Michael Cannon is funding the casting at Bideport foundry, who are looking after us very well. My thanks to them, so I can carry on, to get the Roller Hydraulic . All this has taken a long time with correspondence going backwards and forwards, to reach agreement

I would like, if I can obtain transport to take it again to GDSF, hopefully on its wheels, and hydraulic. My brother will not have room in his trailer for it this year once it is on its wheels.

We have been through the  boxes recovered from Wyke, and we note the cross head has been broken, the safety valves are missing although we do have the base plate, and the pump is missing. One or two other components will be required before we can steam test it. If any one knows the ware abouts of a pump or pattern, like wise the safteys or drawing this would be most helpufull to the restoration.
