Since the launch of our new website we have had a few people asking if we still do the V765 Scheme and the issue of 'age related' registration marks, commonly defined as ‘The Lost Registration’ Scheme.

The short answer is of course, yes. It’s a popular service that we offer to our membership and we have no intentions of stopping it.

The only reason it isn’t currently on the website is we are still going through it, making it work a little better and working on making it a bit less wordy and up to date.

It’ll be back as soon as this is done.

Incidentally you’ll have no doubt noted the lovely image accompanying this Blog being that of Aveling & Porter  12-ton ‘AF Type’ roller No 14104, Inge belonging to an Association member.

This particular machine was exported to Denmark in November 1931 to V Lowener of Copenhagen.

She worked in South Jutland and was later supplied by Aveling’s with wider rear rolls; these being 24in instead of the more usual 17in wide ones. She was returned to her country of origin in 2015 and in order to obtain a registration mark, she went through the process which is described in the ‘Lost Registration’ pages for a roller which has not previously been registered in Britain.

Pictured at the Castle Fraser Steam Fair of the Bon Accord Steam Engine Club near Aberdeen in June 2019, she usually resides near Dunbar over 170 miles away! - our thanks to Keith Jones for the image and Derek Rayner for additional information.
